Depending on your arrival timing, our representative will be at the airport to welcome you in Kathmandu. And transfer to your booked hotel. After you have a rest for a while then we will see you again for further program planning and introduces you to our trekking guide.
Driving time: 7 to 8 hrsFlight time: 25 min’sWe have a choice either we drive or take a flight to Phaplu. If we take a flight then we can start to trek on the same day whereas we will have to wait for a day more in case we drive. So we can tailor the itinerary as per one’s choice.
Trekking time: 5 to 6 hrsThis is the starting day of our trek and so we will start trekking up towards Sherpa Goan and few other villages to Ratnagi Danda (3000m). Now this spot is one of the best view points for Numbur Himal and others including Everest and Mera Peak range, during spring the down valley look spectacular due to the blooming of rhododendrons and other greeneries. We will then track down to Kangku.
Trekking time: 5 to 6 hrsWe carry out a trek along the wheat and corn fields for almost 2 hours and a dropping down on a narrow winding path to Dudhkoshi River. We get across and start rising up walking on a similar kind of trail for more than 2 hours to Waku, an area inhabit by a large number of ethnic group called Kiratis.
Trekking time: 6 to 7 hrsWe have to walk along the crops fields for hours on a sloppy hills track; we will find stone stairs at some places leading mostly through the jungles till Solaban. Solaban is a Sherpa village where the numbers of farmers are decreasing due to people migrating abroad for work and changing lifestyles to a match a pace with the modern society.
Trekking time: 5 hrs Today’s path is comparatively shorter but a bit difficult as well. This is because we mostly have to walk up through the congested bamboo forest. The path leading through is contracted due to bamboo growing all around the place. After getting through the bamboo forest we will be at Sibuche within an hour.
Trekking time: 4 to 5 hrsAt the beginning we move down to the river gorge and then we will be welcomed by a big hill in front of us. We endure a step by step climb through wheat fields at some places but at the most the trail goes through the jungle until we make it to Najindinma.
Trekking time: 6 to 7 hrsWe continue again on a hill side track for about an hour after which we are to undertake a big climb, we walk up changing directions for short periods through pine and bamboo jungles until Surkela for almost 3 hours. From there we move down a little after which we ascend again through bamboo and rhododendron forest up to Cholemkharka.
Trekking time: 7 to 8 hrsToday we begin early after the breakfast, after a small session of descending we prepare to get over the two pass at 5100m being one at Panch Pokhari (place with 5 lake), where Shamans and priest comes during a Hindu festival of Janai Purnima to perform a different rituals. We walk down to the river and walk up to the camp site at a stone’s throw distance.
Trekking time: 6 hrsToday we begin walking on a slope hill with junipers scattered aaround the hill, snow covering on the top and with a jungle below 500m for about almost 2 hour. We will then start moving down amidst large jungle of oak and rhododendrons to Inkhu Khola. We keep following the river for an hour to reach the camp site.
Trekking time: 3 to 4 hrsToday we trek along the ridge of the Inkhu Khola. After passing Gondishung, the summer herders’ settlement, you will encounter a 200 year-old Lungsumgba Gompa. Here you will find a rock inscription of Mera Peak along with its route. A short walk takes us to Thaknak, Overnight in Thangnak.
Today we may hike up to the nearby hills or up to a lake at 5144m for acclimatization and return to the camp and rest.
Trekking time: 5 hrsAfter an early breakfast we start our trek following the lateral moraine of Dig kharka. After some minutes the trail climbs through moraines of the Hinku Nup and Shar Glaciers, and then climbs more steeply to Khare. Overnight at Khare.
Trekking time: 3 to 4 hrsToday after breakfast, we will start our trek from khare. We will walk through a steep and difficult trail to reach Mera Peak Base Camp. After reaching the base camp, we will rest for a while and then, further training and preparation for the next big day. Overnight at Mera Peak Base Camp.
Trekking time: 4 to 5 hrsToday we will be taking the route through Mera La pass. The trial is very rocky and difficult, so one must be really careful. We will slowly and carefully make our way to the top, high camp. Once we are here you can have an excellent view of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Cho-Oyu, south face of Lhotse, Nuptse, Chamlang and Baruntse. Overnight at Mera High Camp.
Walking and climbing time: 8 to 9 hrsToday is a really big day for us because we will be summiting Mera Peak today. We will wake up at 2 and have our breakfast and start the day. We will slowly climb higher into the ever-thinning air. After certain walk on the steepy, cold difficult trial the summit appears on a distance. We may attach to a fixed rope to reach the summit depending on the conditions. One can have a Breath taking views of the Bold mighty Himalayas including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Cho-Oyu (8,210m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m), Kangchenjunga (8,586m), Nuptse (7,855m), Chamlang (7,319m), Baruntse (7 ,129m) and others. Later, we retrace our steps back and descend to Khare. Overnight in Khare.
Trekking time: 4 to 5 hrsToday we will trek from Khare to Kothe retracing the same trail which we used previously. After reaching Kothe, we will celebrate our success by trying out local delicacies and wines. Overnight in Kothe
Trekkingtime: 5 to 6 hrsAfter Breakfast we will trek uphill following the previously used trial. We will pass through beautiful forest of rhododendron, fir and juniper. After reaching Thuli Kharka, we can have views of Mera North, Mera Central and South face. Overnight stay at Thuli kharka.
Trekking time: 6 to 7 hrsToday we start our trek by crossing Zatrwa La Pass. After crossing the pass you can have a beautiful view of Lukla Valley which is surrounded by Cho Oyu, Kongde Peak, Numbur Himal, Kusum Khangru and other Himalayas. This last evening in the mountains is an ideal opportunity for a farewell party with the Sherpa guides and porters, where we can sample some chhyang, try Sherpa dancing and look back on a memorable trekking and climbing experience. Overnight in Lukla.
Flight time: 35 minutesWe pack up early and head for the airstrip for the flight back to Katmandu.
