Trip Overview

This is a unique fusion of Annapurna Conservation and Nar-phu village trek. We will follow with the traditional route starting from Jagat and Dharapani to Koto after which we will switch our track towards Nar Phu valley which is the special treat of this trek. After a series of trek around this valley, we will retrace back to Annapurna trail at Ngawal.
The combination of two villages, Nar and Phu, this trek makes you witness the untouched and remote land of the Annapurna region. One of the restricted areas of Nepal and special permits is demanded to trek in the respective area. It was open for tourist back in 2003.

This barren valley is beautiful in its natural way and the far piece land is attracting an increased number of tourists comparing to the situation in the past. This place is densely populated with the Tibetan settlers known as "Khampas" from the very ancient era that captured the land and settled there later. Due to the less presence of vegetation, the residers mostly depend on cattle herding as a source of income. The villages comprised of closely clustered houses built with stone plates with flat roof tops. 100s of such houses consist of along or within the valley trials. Lhosar, derchi and yakcha etc are the festivals celebrated by the locals of this region as the Tibetan Buddhism follower. The cremation of the dead body is done by burying, burning or feeding to the vulture after the monk or high priest done all the ceremony according to his/her date of birth, destiny or luck to end the ritual of cremation of the dead. Narrow valley, Brilliant sight of Annapurna range, Tilicho peak, Gangapurna Mountain from the Kang la pass, amazing rock formatios, diverse culture and tradition of the region are some of highlights of these 22 days of activity.
